Declared deposition: RMCA.
Name on slide: Schoutedenichia paraxeri .
Handwritten catalogue: Schoutedenichia .
Inscription: T.
Collection data: E’Ville, Katanga (DR Congo, Lubumbashi, 11°40'S, 27°28'E); ex Paraxerus cepapi quotus Wroughton; ears; 28 May 1912; Dr. J. Becquaert.
Number(s): L: 28512/S/1, MC: 16487.
Remarks: Probably, a non-type specimen or a paratype. Holotype of this species with the inscription “ Holotype ”, the same collection data and Nos L: 28512/S/3, MC: 16487 is deposited in RMCA (87556). On the other hand, the latter is not sealed with red lacquer (usual mark of holotypes in the collections of Vercammen-Grandjean) and has an additional inscription “PT. 2” made with green ink that is a usual designation of Vercammen-Grandjean’s paratypes. Thus, one cannot exclude that the word “ Holotype ” was inscribed a posteriori by a RMCA collection curator or some other person who revised the collection of the Museum.
