Material examined. Australia: holotype ZMH P­ 15482, Pt Hedland, 28 Sept 1975.

Remarks. Believed to be intermittent between Odontosyllis and Autolytinae, but inspection of type material reveal nothing in favour for affinity with Autolytinae . Contrary to the description, a ventral cirri is present, and this was the single character that was shared with Autolytinae . Odontoautolytus annulatus is hear referred to Odontosyllis, with which it agrees in all respects.
