*Genus Cymophorus Kirby, 1827

The genus was revised by Schein (1954b). There are seven recognized subgenera in Cymophorus and this genus is distributed throughout the Afrotropical and Oriental Regions (Schein 1954b; Krajcik 2008a; Schoolmeesters 2019; Serrano et al. 2020). This is the first record of the genus for Guinea-Bissau.
