2.2.2. Neurolaena oaxacana Turner (1977: 251) (Fig. 1).
Brief description: —Shrubs 2–5 m tall. Leaf petiole 3.4–7.7 mm long, blade 7.4–45 × 2.6–18 cm, bilobed, venation penninervous, abaxial surface puberulous; capitula radiate, involucre 4.8–6 × 3–6.2 mm, cylindrical to narrowly campanulate, phyllaries puberulous; receptacle holopaleaceous or hemipaleaceous, paleae 4.3–4.5 mm long; ray florets 6–8 per capitulum, corolla 6.7–7.6 mm long, yellow; disc florets 40–50 per capitulum, corolla 4.5–5 mm long, pale yellow to yellow; cypselae 1.3–1.6 mm long, eglandular, pappus 45–70 bristles.
Some specimens have a hemipaleaceous receptacle.
Geographic distribution: —Endemic to Mexico, in Oaxaca state (MO 2383869!) (Fig. 1).
