Family Spercheidae:

This family comprises 18 species in the genus Spercheus Kugelann, found in all zoogeographic regions of the world except Neartic (Short 2017). Only two species have been described from India by Champion (1919) and Hebauer (1990), constituting 11.1% of the total diversity of the world (Table 2).
