Current status: Lixus korbi Petri, 1904 is a valid species

Type. In Reitter’s collection at HNHM, is a female (remounted by somebody) bearing the labels: “Anatolien, Ak-Cheir, 1900, Korb” printed, “ Asia Minor ” printed, “ L. korbi n. sp. Petri” handwritten, “Monotypus, 1904, Lixus korbi Petri, Ƥ ” red brimmed museum label, and fitting the description with type locality as Anatolia (Ak-Cheir). It is the holotype of Lixus korbi .

Remarks. This species is related to Lixus ibis Petri, 1904, differing by the more cylindrical body, coarse punctation on pronotum, lack of basal convexity on elytral interval 3, and shorter rostrum.
