Current status: Lixus rectirostris Desbrochers, 1904 is a junior homonym of Lixus rectirostris Faust, 1890 .

Type. A female in Desbrochers’s collection at MNHN mounted on card, body intact but left hind tarsus missing, bears the handwritten labels: “Biskra, Juin 86 ”, “ Lixus rectirostris ”, and fits description with type locality as “Biskra”, and has been labeled “ Lixus rectirostris Faust, Gültekin det. 2005”. It is the holotype of the species.
