Current status: Lixus turbatus Gyllenhal, 1827 is a junior synonym of Lixus iridis Olivier, 1807 .

Type. In Gyllenhal’s collection at UUZM, under the name “ Turbatus, Typ. nr. 1600” is a pinned female bearing the handwritten labels: “Ƥ” “ pulverulentus var: grano, Besser”, “ L: turbatus Schh.”, and fitting description of type locality as Finlandia. It is here designated as lectotype with “ Lectotypus, Ƥ, Lixus turbatus Gyll., Gültekin des. 2006”. A pinned male bearing the handwritten label “ Lixus pulverulentus Fbr., Ghl. ” is designated as paralectotype with “ Paralectotypus, 3, Lixus turbatus Gyll., L. Gültekin des. 2006”. Another pinned male (hind two legs missing) labeled “Ƥ” is here designated paralectotype with “ Paralectotypus, 3, Lixus turbatus Gyll., L. Gültekin des. 2006”. To all three above specimens was also added a label stating them to be “ Lixus iridis Ol., Gültekin det. 2006”.

Remarks. Gemminger and Harold (1871) first established Lixus turbatus Gyllenhal, 1827 as a junior synonym of L. iridis Olivier, 1807 .
