Current status: Lixus pallipes Zumpt, 1938 is a valid species.
Type. In Frey’s collection at NMB is a female holotype in good shape mounted on a card bearing labels: “Bagdad, Irak, IV-36, Frey”, “Ƥ” printed, “ Lixus pallipes m., F. Zumpt det. 37” partly printed. According to the original description the type locality is “Bagdad”.
Remarks. Lixus pallipes Zumpt, 1938 is closely related to Lixus subulatus Faust, but differs from the latter by divergent claws at the base, shorter and not strongly curved rostrum with reddish color apicad of antennal insertion.
