Current status: Lixus posticus Faust, 1884 is a valid species.
Type. In Faust’s collection at SMTD, is a male (right elytron pinned, left funicle missing) bearing the handwritten labels: “[golden square]”, “3, Albasin, Must.”, and fitting the description with type locality as Albasin. It is here designated as lectotype with “ Lectotypus, 3, Lixus posticus Faust, Gültekin des. 2005”. A male and a female (right elytron pinned, left fore leg and right middle claw segment of male missing, elytra of female separated) bear the labels: “[golden square]”, “3, Chabarofka Basin”, and are here designated as paralectotypes with “ Paralectotypus, Lixus posticus Faust, Gültekin des. 2005”.
Remarks. This species is related to Lixus nordmanni Hochhuth, but clearly differs by its thick and short rostrum, and sharp apex of aedeagus.
