Type locality — Type: United States, Pennsylvania (NHRS) .

Distribution —Eastern North America, west to Kansas and Texas. In Canada, it occurs from the Nova Scotia peninsula to the Sault Ste. Marie area in Ontario, north to the Gaspe area in Quebec.
