Type species — Eutrypanus nitidus White, 1855 (original designation).
Diagnosis. Antennae with setae; prothorax with lateral tubercle placed about middle, at posterior third, or lacking distinct lateral tubercle; pronotum without tubercles on each side of the middle of the anterior half; elytra without centrobasal crest or carinae; mesoventral process wider than mesocoxal cavity; metatarsomere I slightly longer than next two together. Number of species currently included: 13; in Mexico and Central America: 3.
