Type species — Alcidion pictulum White, 1855 (original designation).

Diagnosis. Lateral tubercles of the prothorax placed after middle and scarcely developed; pronotum without tubercles; elytra with lateral carina; elytral centrobasal crest without long setae dorsally; mesoventral process half of the width of a mesocoxa; basal metatarsomere as long as one and a half times the next two together. Number of species currently included: 6: in Central America: 2.
