Type species — Ozineus elongatus Bates, 1863 (subsequent designation, Thomson, 1864: 322).

Diagnosis. Lateral tubercles of the prothorax distinct, placed at posterior third; elytra with centrobasal crest, with erect setae dorsally; femora clavate; ovipositor moderately projected beyond the elytral apex. Number of species currently included: 1 (Central America).
