CORIACINA Krömmelbein, 1962

Type Species: Coriacina coriacea Krömmelbein, 1962

Diagnosis: Carapace medium-sized. Irregularly egg-shaped in lateral outline. Straight part of the dorsal margin of approximately half the carapace length. Widely rounded anterior margin, swinging out slightly towards the front and downwards and running more or less flowingly into the convex ventral margin. Median sulcus broad, flat, extending to the valve centre. Valve area in front of and behind the sulcus slightly inflated. Carapace surface furnished with irregular, variably deep and large dimples, evoking a scarred or “leather-like” appearance.
