Simothraulopsis Demoulin
This genus, currently represented by five species, is widely distributed in Northern South America. It is related to the genera Farrodes and Homothraulus . While Farrodes is widely distributed in the Americas, Homothraulus has only been collected in Northeastern Argentina, Uruguay and Southeastern Brazil (ParanĂ¡ basin). It appears then that Simothraulopsis present a vicariant distribution with its sister group Homothraulus .
