Mendamanus ailurostoma Bamber, 1999

Mendamanus ailurostoma Bamber 1999, 176–181, figs 5–7. Bamber et al. 2012, 79.

Material examined: 1♀, Station S14, 04°42′39"N 114°26′24.6"E, 12.7 m depth, sand; March 2009. 5♂♂, 8♀♀ (one with oostegites, four brooding), Station DA, 05°54′28.5"N 114°38′23.3"E, 20 m depth, sand.

Remarks. This species was previously known only from nine specimens (including the type series), all from these waters in a depth range of 0 to 60 m. The present records add nothing to its depth-range or distribution, but seem to confirm that it is an uncommon species.
