Genus 28. Promecidia Lelej, 1996
Diagnosis. FEMALE. The following combination of characters separates Promecidia from other Oriental mutillid genera: the scutellar scale is absent; the T2 disc has two laterally situated setal spots; and T6 lacks a defined pygidium. Other diagnostic features are listed by Lelej et al. (2016). MALE. See Lelej et al. (2016).
Diversity and Distribution. Eleven species are recognized in the eastern Oriental region (Lelej et al. 2016).
Remarks. This genus was recently revised by Lelej et al. (2016). It is the only Oriental genus of Trogaspidiini to completely lack a scutellar scale but can be difficult to separate from Orientidia species with a small scale, like O. thoawanae, sp. nov.
