Gryllulus algirius var. finoti Chopard, 1943: 188 .

Type locality: Algeria, Chabet el Ameur.

Distribution: Species known from Algeria only.

Biogeographic zones: Shoreline, Tellian Atlas.

Bioclimatic zones: Humid, subhumid.

Records in Algeria: Chabet el Ameur [36°38'N 3°41'E] (Finot 1896). Teniet el Had [35°52'N 2°1'E]; Algiers [36°45'N 3°3'E]; Boufarik [36°34'N 2°55'E] (Chopard 1943). Bouzeguène [36°36'N 4°26'E] (Brahmi 2005). Beni-Tamou [36°22'N 2°49'E] (Boukeroui 2006).

Remark: A taxon close to Modicogryllus algirius finoti, but different, has been collected at Tizi Ouzou, Draa Ben Khedda [36°44'N 3°57'E], in the Akfadou forest [36°41'N 4°34'E], at Tafoughalt [36°37'N 3°52'E] and at Si Mustapha [36°43'N 3°36'E]; its description will necessitate to reconsider known subspecies of M. algirius (Mohamed Sahnoun pers. obs.).
