Gryllus palmetorum Krauss, 1902: 250 .

Type locality: Algeria, Ngoussa palm groves, Touggourt and Mraier.

Distribution: Iberian Peninsula, Canary islands, northern half of Africa, southwest Asia, Cyprus (Gorochov and Llorente 2001). Species found at Madagascar (Chopard 1963).

Biogeographic zones: Shoreline, Tellian Atlas, Northern Sahara, Central Sahara. Bioclimatic zones: Humid, subhumid, saharian.
