Ixodes malayensis Kohls, 1962

Ixodes malayensis has only been recorded from the Cameron Highlands of peninsular Malaysia (Kohls 1962). The only known host is the common tree shrew, Tupaia glis, which has a wide Oriental distribution (Lekagul and McNeely 1977) and has often been sampled for ticks in other areas (e.g., Hoogstraal et al. 1968b, 1973b; Saito et al. 1971).

The female was described by Kohls (1962).
