BCN, 5 mi N San Pedro M. [undoubtedly this is Misión San Pedro Mártir, ± 30°45’N, 115°16’W, 1630 m], 17 & 27-VIII-58, E.L. Sleeper (CAS, CLBC); 3.3 mi S El Condor, 1-IX-81, D.K. Faulkner (SDMC). This sexually dimorphic species has been recorded from British Columbia to California, east to Idaho, Colorado and New Mexico. Although it has not been reared, it is almost exclusively taken on Ericameria nauseosa (Pallas ex Pursh) G.L. Nesom & Baird (formerly Chrysothamnus, Asteraceae), which is presumed to be its larval host.
