32. Paraphotina occidentalis Lombardo, 1998 [HU? SM? UC?]
Type locality (Lombardo, 1998): Given as “Huallaga, Aguaytia R., 400m ”. Rivers are often abbreviated simply as “R” in label data, and thus the specific locality likely refers to the Aguaytía River, within the Ucayali River basin, in Ucayali. However, Huallaga could also refer to either the Huallaga Province, in San Martín, or the Huallaga River, the latter within the Marañón River basin. Either as a river or a province, Huallaga is not politically associated to the Aguaytía River and thus both cannot be considered as to refering to the same locality. It is possible that the type locality refers to an unspecified area between “Huallaga” and “Aguaytía R”, i.e. somewhere in the confluence of San Martín, Ucayali and Huánuco departments. Agudelo & Rafael (2016) reported this species for western Brazilian Amazon.
