Examined material. AYACUCHO: 1 ♂ (HOLOTYPE), Huanta, 2400m, XII.1947 (Weyrauch leg.) (NHMW) ; 1 ♂, Huanta, 7.VI.2007 (I. Vilca leg.) (UNALM); 1 ♀, Huanta, 27.III.1996 (A. Jeri leg.) (UNALM); 2 ♂ and 1 ♀, Huamanga, Distrito Quinua, Mituqasa, 2800m, 30.I.2001 (SENASA leg.) (UNALM).
Remarks. Otte & Spearman (2005: 280) mistakenly cited this species as “ Coptopteryx rebrevipennis ”, an error perpetuated in the Mantodea Species File Online. Patel & Singh’s (2016a) global checklist of Mantodea, largely based on this online resource, cited this species under both its correct and incorrect spelling. Accordingly, “ Coptopteryx rebrevipennis ” is an incorrect subsequent spelling of Coptopteryx brevipennis Beier, 1958 and thus the name is unavailable under Art. 33.3, ICZN (1999).
