Currently, Vandykea has been included in the two subtribes of Oemini: Oemina (Tavakilian and Chevillotte 2022; Monné and Nearns 2023); Methioidina (Bezark 2023b) . However, the eyes coarsely faceted and the large lower eye lobes would place this genus in Oemina .
