Holotype female, Solomon Islands (NHM) (genitalia not examined). Morphological characters were discussed by Holloway (1982), who assigned the species to Ziridava .

Prorocorys admirabilis Warren, 1903 (syn.), Solomon Islands, Santa Isabel Island, synonymized by Holloway (1997) (see also Scoble 1999).

Note. The affinity of gemmata with the genus Ziridava needs to be tested as the wing pattern shows distinct deviation (Schmidt, unpubl. data).

Geographical range. Solomon Islands: Santa Island.
