Material examined.Nansha Islands: Mischief Reef, 115°33.6’E 9°53.0’N, 10 m, coll.Shaobo Ma, Yuli Sun, Ziming Yuan, 8 May 2022, 1 male, (5.86 × 5.13 mm), NS-MJJ-2022-1568, in Acropora jacquelineae ( Acroporidae).
Geographical distribution. Tetralia aurantistellata was previously known from the Philippines, Loyalty Islands, and Fiji (Trautwein 2007).
Remarks. Tetralia aurantistellata is rarely collected. The record from Japan (Maenosono 2017) probably represents a new species, because the photograph of this record showed almost transparent white pereiopods with a brownish-red pattern on the upper surface, rather than brown pereiopods, that are of the same color as the chelipeds, and the surface of both the pereiopods and abdomen were covered with uniform orange spots.
