Distribution in Iran. Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari (Ghahari et al. 2011), Golestan (Reuter 1876 under the combination Pycnoptera persica, female holotype from Astrabad = Gorgan; Kerzhner & Josifov 1999; Ghahari & Ostovan 2006), Kordestan (Abd-Rabou & Ghahari 2005), Mazandaran (Ghahari & Ostovan 2006; Ghahari et al.

2008b), Tehran (Ghahari et al. 2011), Northern Iran (no locality cited) (Farahbakhsh 1961; Modarres Awal 1997c). General distribution, hosts and prey. Azerbaijan, Iran; on hawthorn (Farahbakhsh 1961), Malva parviflora (Ghahari et al. 2011), Vaccaria pyramidata (Abd-Rabou & Ghahari 2005), whitethorn (Modarres Awal 1997c) and Xanthium spinosum (Ghahari et al. 2008b), but also in cotton and rice fields (Ghahari et al. 2011). Predator of aphids, mites (Modarres Awal 1997c) and Bemisia tabaci Gennadius ( Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) (Ghahari & Ostovan 2006).
