Genus Australiobates Lundblad, 1941

A genus with a Gondwanan distribution, occurring in Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea, South Africa and South America. Within Australia 20 species are known. It is the most abundant and widespread genus in Australia, in almost every stream one can find species of this genus.
