Holotype male in NMSA (not seen).

Diagnosis. Arista with short hairs; dorsocentrals 2+3; katepisternals 1+1 (according to the original description); fore tibia with a row of long curled posteroventrals; mid femur with 2 preapical setae, one posterior and one posterodorsal; mid tibia with 2 posterior setae; sternite 1 bare. Cercal plate and surstylus as in Zielke (1970: Fig. 3).

Notes. It runs to couplet 13 and to L. leptopus in Emden’s (1951) key but differs by having a row of long curled posteroventrals on fore tibia.
