Didymium clavodecus K.D. Whitney, Mycologia 71(6):1257 (1980)
Paratypus: USA. California, Sonoma Co., leaf litter, Dec 1976, leg. K.D. Whitney 117, DWM 3769 [one box, K-M001435087], (Fig. 3H).
Notes. When Whitney (1980: 1258) described this species, two samples were mentioned under collections examined, the type “KDW 414” that is in BPI 815690, and “KDW 117”, of which Mitchell’s material is a duplicate. There are two isotypes in NY 00834431 and BPI 805584.

Holotypus: USA. Arizona, near Wickenberg, on bark of desert shrub in moist chamber, 16 Apr 1987, leg. S. Farmer-Hale, D.W. Mitchell 4430 [two boxes + one slide, K-M001435084], (Fig. 3I).
Notes. In Mitchell’s collection there are two boxes, the holotype and one with “duplicate” handwritten on it. There is an isotype in the Nannenga-Bremekamp collection as no. 15603, currently in BR5020069431763.

Paratypus: FRANCE. Roquemaure-Aire autoroute, Tavel Sud (84), feuilles mortes de Quercus ilex, 22 Apr 1996, leg. M. Meyer 16307, DWM 6400 [one box, K-M) (Figs. 3J‒K).
Notes. This material is one of those mentioned by Moreno et al. (1997: 318) in “Collections examined”. The holotype is from Spain and is in AH 16379.
