Thamnodynastes pallidus (Linnaeus, 1758)

Type locality. “Indiis” (in error).

Distribution. Known from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela (Plt. 357A). In Brazil, widespread in Amazonia and the northern part of the Atlantic Forest, with marginal records near its contact with the Caatinga, forming a disjunct distribution (Plt. 357A). Recorded mostly at low elevations (Plt. 357B). Maps and taxonomy in Bailey et al. (2005). Observed in the field in wet forest (Silveira et al., 2017), close to water (Cunha and Nascimento, 1993; McDiarmid and Donelly, 2005; Santana et al., 2008) and open areas (Guedes et al., 2014).
