Eylais glubokensis Udalzov, 1907
Species incerta
Discussion: As the original description of the adult is very incomplete and no type material is available, K. Viets (1956) considered it a species incerta. Females of this species are very similar to E. extendens Müller, 1776 . Wainstein (1968, 1980) described under this name a characteristic larva which was found later also in Poland by Cichocka (1983) and Zawal (2004) in small eutrophic water bodies, parasitic on Limnebius truncatellus ( Coleoptera, Hydraenidae). In view of the poor documentation of the adult, the specific attribution of these larvae appears rather arbitrary. Laboratory rearing is necessary in order to describe the respective postlarval stages. If they really agree with what Udalzov (1907) described under the name of E. glubokensis, we must accept that E. extendens is a complex of species which at present can be differentiated only at the larval stage.
