Remarks. A sample marked ‘SAM A 356’ might be from Michaelsen’s original type material. Pickford (1937: 399) under the heading ‘ Parachilota algoensis (Michaelsen, 1899) ’ gives a diagnosis of the species and a key to subspecies based on different locations of the hearts. Two subspecies P. algoensis algoensis (Michaelsen, 1899) and P. algoensis octocordatus are then described in detail.
