Type locality. EC, ‘Port Elizabeth’.

Distribution. Michaelsen (1899, 1913a,b) records refer to coastal-belt in EC and Cape Penisula’s Table Mtn west-foothills, WC. Pickford (1937) added new data from Table Mtn: Chapman's Peak, road overlooking Kommatje Bay, hillside.

Remarks. Pickford revised Michaelsen’s type material SAMC 356, compared it with material collected by herself (A21586), and re-desribed it under the subspecies name. Both samples are at present in the SAMC collection. Other material: BMNH 1938.7.1.1698–1713.
