Type locality. EC, Port Elizabeth, Essex Vale, Baakens river, bank of wooded backwater.
Distribution. This species is known from few distant areas, all in the coastal-belt of the Western and Eastern Cape provinces. EC: Port Elizabeth vicinity (two sites). WC: Knysna Forest, near Deep Walls. Witte Fontein, Knysna-Avontuur Road, at stream bank. Belvedere, Knysna, in bank of the pond near beach. George, the Wilderness in the woods sloping down.
Remarks. ‘Types’ BMNH 1938. 7.1.713–760 ‘Housed together in one jar with others of same number’. Syntype: SAMC A21719; NMSA/Olig.03002; ZMH V-10452. Pickford (1937: 164) transferred one immature syntype specimen of Microscolex luisae Michaelsen 1899 to this species.
