Type locality. WC, ‘Moddergat near Lynedoch, Stellenbosch Dist.’ (reported by Michaelsen, 1913a, b).
Distribution. WC, Eastern proximity of Cape Peninsula, Stellenbosch area and at peninsula Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, in the dell flower-beds.
Remarks. Pickford (1937) redescribed material collected by Michaelsen (1913a) in Stellenbosch area, Moddergat near Lynedoch, misidentified as Chilota capensis (Beddard, 1885), and recognized it as a new species, Parachilota michaelsenianus . Some additional systematic observations were made based on Michaelsen’s specimens and her new material. She made clear that the new species is not identical with Beddard’s problematic Acanthodrilus capensis Beddard, 1885 . Holotype SAMC 147 (from Moddergat near Lynedoch). Paratype BMNH 1938.7.1.1047. Other material: SAMC A21600 (n. sp.?); BMNH 1938.7.1.1048–1052 with variable hand-written information.
