Type locality. LP, Zoutpansberg (= Soutspanberg) ‘kloof’ north-west of Makhado (= Louis Trichard) in native forest.

Distribution. Known from numerous sites, in two provinces: LP: Eastern side of central Drakensberg. Northern escarpment at Soutspanberg Haenertzberg area, at Dr. Thompson's Farm, in native forest humus, and in soil on the streamside. KZN, Drakensberg: Rainbow Gorge Forest, bank Neumeni stream; Cathedral Peak area.
