Parachilota ruficeps ruficeps Pickford, 1937: 389; SAMC; BMNH.

Type locality. WC, Wellington area: Witte River Valley, Bain's Kloof Pass.

Distribution. This subspecies is known from the north-eastern proximity of Cape Peninsula. Three samples collected from type locality and its nearby vicinity, all close to the sites of P. ruficeps progrediens .

Remarks. Other material SAMC A21606. Tubes numbered BMNH 1938.7.1.1648–65 and BMNH 1938.7.1.1666–1682 contain numerous specimens and comments: ‘red marking crossed out, but inner label says subsp. n., these are paratypes’ (the citation taken from the notes inserted in recorded Acanthodrilidae).
