Type locality. FS, ‘Along Vaal river at border between Transvaal and Orange Free State’ (Ude 1905).

Distribution. Reported from a narrow area bordering the provinces NW and FS: Warrenton near bank of Vaal river at motor bridge, in grass near potato field. Parys, Vaal river bank. Further sites are possibly located in the neighbourhood of type locality. Species distribution may be along Vaal river extending through the North West and Orange Free State provinces.

Remarks. ‘ Syntypes ZMB Verm. 10768: 4 immature syntypes & fragment of 5th, the specimens received from Institute of Zoology University in Goettingen’. Other material: NMSA/Olig. 0 1097. Notes on the species' taxonomic position and correction of misidentifications by Ljungström (1972b: 105) in Plisko (2004: 311).
