Type locality. KZN, Mapelane Nature Reserve, protected coastal forest: at forest outskirt, sandy soil with thick layer of black topsoil.

Distribution. Known only from forested area at sea side in the middle of KZN. Material collected in the pitfall traps below the surface layer in the indigenous coastal forest (Zulti-North) undisturbed for 37 years. Neighbouring part of the Mapelane Nature Reserve forest was used for cutting trees and bushes for more than 30 years.
