Distribution. Previously recorded from Saudi Arabia by Al-Ahmadi & Salem (1999). New for the fauna of Tunisia.It was described from United States (Missouri).This is a cosmopolitan species presence in all zoogeographical region except Antarctica (Cogan 1980; Papp 1984a; Deeming 1992; Černý 2005, 2023; Černý & von Tschirnhaus 2014; Lonsdale et al. 2023).
Host remarks. Spencer (1973a: 153–157, 1990; Benavent-Corai et al. 2005) lists many known host plants of L. brassicae, which are mainly of the Brassicaceae, more rarely of the Capparidaceae, Resedaceae and Fabaceae, Cleomaceae, and Tropaeolaceae . Al-Azawi (1967: 286) reported L. brassicae attacking radish ( Raphanus sativus L.) and Spencer (1973a: 156) reported it as a significant pest of cabbages. Papp & Černý (2017: 78) gave a good account on the life habits of this species. Lonsdale et al. (2023) gave detailed information on the taxonomy, biology, distribution, host plants, damage caused and parasitoids attacking this species.
