Geographic range: Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa.
Habitat: Terrestrial.
Notes: The molluscs tend to be variable in terms of their size and proportions; the shell length increases while the shell width decreases along the southnorth gradient (van Bruggen 1966 b). The species is endemic to Southern Africa, occurring in drier arid regions west of the Limpopo River, and also in the tropical regions east of the Limpopo River (van Bruggen 1966 b) .
Type locality: near “Lattakoo” (Dithakong), east of Kuruman, Northern Cape, South Africa (Gray 1834) .
