The texana species-group
First proposed by Casey (1887: 466; 1894: 480); Group II of Bowman (1934). Tergite 1 long in male, only tergite 1 visible in dorsal view for two of the three species, apex deflexed and broadly sinuate at middle, deflexed portion of tergite 1 and adjacent lateral areas of tergite 2 with short thick yellow setae. Includes B. eldredgei Chandler sp. nov., B. foveata (LeConte), and B. texana (Casey) . This group is found from the American Southwest to California.
