Genus Phradis Förster, 1869

Phradis is a large predominantly Holarctic genus with 20 species in the Nearctic region (including Mexico) (Horstmann 2013 a, Khalaim & Ruíz-Cancino 2018, 2020) and about 40 species in the Palaearctic region (Khalaim 2007; Khalaim et al. 2009; Yu et al. 2016). Beyond the Holarctic region, the genus is known in Australia, Afrotropical and Neotropical regions (Yu et al. 2016).

Six species of Phradis occur in Japan (Khalaim 2015a; Khalaim & Tereshkin 2018): P. concavus (Uchida), P. flavoclypeatus Khalaim, P. kyushuensis Khalaim, P. nikishenae Khalaim, and two species listed below.

In Europe, species of the genus are known as parasitoids of sap beetle larvae ( Nitidulidae: Meligethes spp.) (Horstmann 1981; Yu et al. 2016).
