Ampullaria tasmanica Tenison-Woods, 1877: 117 . Type material — lectotype (Ponder et al. 1993: 573): TMAG E20509; paralectotypes: TMAG E496/7837 (2 spms.). Type locality —“some of the rivers emptying themselves on the north coast” [of Tasmania].

Remarks. Hydrobiidae Stimpson s. l. (Wilke et al. 2013: 721); placed in Beddomeia Petterd by Ponder et al. (1993: 573). Junior secondary homonym of Valvata tasmanica Tenison-Woods, 1876 (un-numbered inserted page) when both are placed in Beddomeia (see Ponder et al. 1993: 574).
