quoyana
Ampullacera quoyana Potiez & Michaud, 1838: 288, pl. 28, figs. 17, 18. Type material — syntypes: MNHN 4625 (12 spms.). Type locality —“La Nouvelle-Zélande ”.
Remarks. Name attributed to Férussac by Potiez & Michaud. Additional type material was probably in the Douai Museum, which was destroyed during World War II (Golding et al. 2007: 25). Gaudion (1880: 39) gave the locality as Australia. No ampullariids are known from either New Zealand or Australia. Placed in Ampullaria by Woolacott (1945: 35). The shells of MNHN 4625 match the original illustration well. Amphiboloidea; listed as Salinator quoyana but under species incertae sedis by Golding et al. (2007: 25).
