Remarks. Martens (1857: 207) listed neritella Cuvier as among the Ampullariidae of the Berlin Museum but indicated that it was in fact Helicina neritella Lamarck. Helicinidae; type species of Helicina Lamarck (Cowie et al. 1995: 23) .

phaeostoma

Paludina bengalensis subvar. phaeostoma Nevill, 1885: 21 . Unavailable name: infrasubspecific (Code, Art. 45.5).

Remarks. Paetel (1888: 481) listed “ phaeostoma Nevil. India.” in Ampullaria . However, Nevill did not describe a phaeostoma in Ampullaria and Paetel’s listing is here presumed to be of the above subvariety. Viviparidae .
