Holotype: BPBM 17981, 54.2 mm SL, male.

Type locality: outer reef off Enubuj Islet at southern end of atoll, Kwajalein, Marshall Islands, western Pacific, depth 8 to 10 meters.

Distribution: western and central Pacific: Papua New Guinea and Palau east to Phoenix Islands and Line Islands.
