Distribution. This is a widespread species in tropical Africa and Asia.
Habitat. Associated with grass and herb vegetations on moist soils at lower elevations (Figure 2 d, 4a).
Remarks. We collected two brachypterous specimens (Figure 32) at Shorori wetland (Figure 4 a). The existence of brachypterous forms in Ethiopia was already mentioned by Jago (1977).
